Range of disposable containers to transport laboratory samples with Triple Packaging System as regulatory compliance for the transport of Category B samples (UN 3373), Exempt Human or Animal Specimens.
Medimail is yellow and all necessary marking is displayed on its external surface, including a security label to avoid unauthorized use.
Medimail is a disposable triple packaging system to transport Category B Infectious Materials.
It is specially designed for compliance with 95kPa pressure resistance, required in packing instruction P650, either in secondary packaging (flexible bag or rigid pot), which lets you use any leakproof primary receptacle as sample tubes, urine boats, etc.
This system meets all safety measures and keeps different temperature. It is certified by an approved inspection for transport of substances classified as Category B, Biological Substance, included in UN No. 3373, according to the packing instruction P650 of ADR.
There are three different containers for sample transport:
This receptacle contains specimens, e.g., test tubes, Petri dishes, urine vials, etc.
For liquid specimens, absorbent material (hi-tech polymer) is supplied in a quantity sufficient to retain the content of the primary receptacle and to wrap every primary receptacle, so they are individually separated.
Several primary receptacles can be housed in it for transport. It is capable of withstanding, without leakage, an internal pressure of 95 kPa (0.95 bar). The secondary packaging can be rigid (a canister with screw-on cap) or flexible (a two-pocket tray-sealed specimen bag, being the second one designed in order to protect information).
In accordance with paragraph 1.4.2.1 of ADR 2013, the shipper is responsible for the packaging and labeling of goods it sends and may not delegate duties to third parties, such as the carrier.
Either the container or the packaging are working tools and, according to the legislation on labor protection, suitable material should be given to workers by the person in charge (section 3.1 of Spanish RD 1215/1997) as well as protection against infectious substances (art. 6 of Spanish RD 664/97).
Labeling is what defines, from outside, the type of goods and their danger so that in case of accident, it would be possible to act accordingly. Improper labeling means taking unnecessary risks or giving wrong information, as well as breaking the legislation and assuming the sanctions due to proceeding in this way.
